A new helmet for pilots of the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighters displays information about both piloting and the combat situation — distance to the target, speed, altitude, as well as aiming marks with the calculation of all coordinates. This was reported by Mikhail Strelets, the chief designer of the combat aircraft.
According to him, the missile's homing head deflects in the direction the pilot is looking. And further down the scales, the pilot will see whether a launch is permitted based on the conditions.
During testing, the first prototype of the new helmet cracked, after which special slots were made for strength, which disrupt the furious airflow during ejection.
The new helmet weighs less than 2 kilograms and has passed testing on special rain stands. The helmet was flooded with water and tested in a wind tunnel, including for strength, giving a load, including during ejection.
To date, the new Su-57 helmet is already completing testing in the sky and will soon appear on production vehicles.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the full configuration of weapons and protection of the T-90M "Proryv" tank has become known.
