The first floating module for the dock of project 28140С was launched at the production site of the Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Corporation in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The finished module is part of a steel floating ten-pontoon non-self-propelled object, which is designed for docking and repairing ships. With its help, shipbuilders will be able to carry out repairs, cleaning and painting of the outer skin, bottom-side fittings, propeller-rudder group, and anchor device.
The first module was laid down in April 2024. The customer is the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard (Arkhangelsk).
Russian equipment is used in the creation of the 28140С dock project. The Odyss software package, developed by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, was used for structural calculations.
Characteristics of project 28140С: lifting capacity — 5 thousand tons, 4 cranes, length — 158 m, width — 36.8 m, board height — 13.3 m.
