The authorities have received a large number of applications from major Russian airlines for firm contracts for the supply of aircraft. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
Only Aeroflot has indeed signed firm contracts. As for the applications, they were from a fairly large number of major airlines.
The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that they included the airlines Red Wings and S7.
In September 2023, Aeroflot CEO Sergei Alexandrovsky noted that the company intends to conclude firm contracts with the leasing company Aviacapital Service (part of Rostec) for the supply of 18 medium-range MC-21s and 34 import-substituted short-range SJ-100 aircraft.
According to the agreement concluded in September of the same year, the group will receive 52 aircraft, including six MC-21-310s for Aeroflot, as well as 34 SJ-100 aircraft for Russia and 12 MC-21-310 aircraft.
