The new flat nozzle for the new Su-57 engines is a metal composite structure, specially designed and integrated with the engine to enable new capabilities on the aircraft. This was announced by Mikhail Strelets, Chief Designer of the Su-57.
According to him, this solution will allow the aircraft to perform more functions than an axisymmetric nozzle, including ensuring low visibility in the radar and infrared ranges, which determines the characteristic shapes of the nozzle flaps.
The flat nozzle allows the modernized Su-57 to be used in a wider range of altitudes and flight speeds. In fact, it complements the existing aerodynamic controls in stealth conditions, allowing the creation of new control moments in three planes—pitch, roll, and yaw.
It was previously reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) received two advanced Su-57 fighters. The fifth-generation aircraft are believed to belong to series with a modified design and improved avionics.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the characteristics of the ZA-SpN "Titan" armored vehicle, shown at the parade in Moscow, have become known.
