At the parade marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow, modernized BRM-1K infantry fighting vehicles, the result of a deep modernization of the Soviet BRM-1K, were demonstrated for the first time. The appearance of these vehicles on Red Square became a symbol of the continuity of Russian armored vehicles.
First of all, the modernization affected the armament — instead of the outdated 73-mm Grom cannon, a modern combat module with a 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon, stabilized in two planes, was installed. Thanks to it, the crew confidently hits both ground and low-flying aerial targets, including helicopters and drones.
A modern combined sight is used to improve shooting accuracy even on the move.
The new version of the combat reconnaissance vehicle is equipped with a UTD-20S1 diesel engine with a capacity of 300 hp, providing a range of up to 550 km and a maximum speed of up to 65 km/h.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian BEC "Katran" will begin launching Skvorets-Navy kamikaze drones.
