An unusual Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system (SAM) was spotted at the Victory Parade rehearsal in Tula. The system features a new radar station for target tracking and missile guidance.
The characteristics of the system have not been officially disclosed at the moment. It is worth noting that the same complex was previously installed on the Pantsir-SM and Pantsir-SM-TBM modifications.
According to data from open sources, the new radar is equipped with a phased antenna array with improved characteristics in terms of air target detection range, noise immunity, and resolution.
The new complex sees small targets at a range of up to 75 km, and with the use of new missiles, the interception range increases to 40 km.
Main characteristics of the Pantsir-S1 SAM system, using the example of engaging an aircraft with an effective scattering area of 2 m² and a flight speed of 300 m/s:
- Missile armament in range - 1200-20000 m, in height - 15-15000 m
- Gun armament in range - 200-4000 m, in height - 0-3000 m
- Number of simultaneously engaged targets - 4
- Maximum speed of engaged targets - 1000 m/s
