The newest self-propelled artillery unit (SPG) "Malva" will be shown at the Victory Parade on May 9 in Moscow. The system was first presented at the "Army-2020" forum in a closed exhibition area, but the first serial models entered service with the Russian army at the end of 2023.
Fighters of the artillery unit left their first reviews of the self-propelled gun based on the results of combat work. They noted that high mobility has become an important feature of the system. Thanks to the wheeled chassis, the howitzer is able to quickly deploy to a position and leave it, avoiding return fire, which is very important in counter-battery combat.
It is capable of firing in the "fire raid with one gun" mode - when it fires several rounds sequentially along different trajectories, but they reach the target simultaneously, not giving the enemy time to take cover.
Paired with artillery reconnaissance complexes, "Malva" effectively destroys enemy artillery installations. The complex makes up to eight shots per minute.
That is, eight shells are fired, and the installation crew has already changed its location at this time. The ammunition load of such a "Malva" includes 30 shots.
The ammunition of "Malva" is the Krasnopol-D guided artillery shell with a flight range of about 50 km, which has already been put into mass production. The Aurora and Altai laser guidance systems are responsible for the accuracy of the strikes.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Ministry of Defense demanded to recover almost a million rubles from "Voentorg" in a new lawsuit.
