Rosatom Machine Building has created the company Energoflot Murmansk to expand the territory of FSUE Atomflot in Murmansk. The main activity of the new company will be the construction of ships and floating structures.
Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis previously mentioned plans to expand Atomflot's infrastructure, but the details of the project remain under wraps.
Investments in this project could reach 100 billion rubles, and construction is scheduled to begin in 2027. The technical aspects of the project are being developed by Rosatom Machine Building.
As a reminder, FSUE Atomflot is located in Murmansk and manages nuclear icebreakers, and also has facilities for ship repair and handling nuclear fuel. Experts believe that the new project promises significant changes in the field of nuclear shipbuilding and energy.
