About dredgers

A dredger is a technical fleet vessel designed for dredging and mining non-metallic construction materials. They differ in the method of transporting soil.

  • Cutter suction dredger – soil transportation using a floating slurry pipeline
  • Hopper dredger – soil is transported by special vessels (hopper barges)
  • Self-propelled – the dredger takes the soil into the hold and transports it to the dumping site
  • With hydromonitor pulp discharge (suitable for operation in river estuaries).
  • Long-couloir – soil is moved along a tray to the shore
