About dredgers

A dredger is a technical fleet vessel that is designed for dredging and mining non-metallic construction materials. They differ in the way the soil is transported.

  • Refuler - soil transportation using a floating slurry pipeline
  • Hopper - soil is transported by special vessels (hopper barges)
  • Self-propelled - the dredger receives soil into the hold and takes it to the dumping site
  • With hydromonitor pulp ejection (suitable for operation in river estuaries).
  • Long-couloir - the soil is moved along the tray to the shore
