The Mayak plant in Kirov (part of the Kalashnikov concern) has completed the installation of new equipment. As part of the second stage of technical re-equipment, the company purchased about 400 units of equipment.
Deliveries began at the end of last year, mainly metal-cutting machines: turning machines, five-axis milling machining centers, and a laser installation. The technical re-equipment affects all divisions of the plant. The blanking and mechanical production facilities have put turning machines into operation.
At the same time, 18 new five-axis milling software-controlled machines are being installed; another 8 milling machines of other models will arrive in May. The construction of a control and measuring machine area is underway, and the site for shaft furnaces is being prepared. A new cold room has been installed in the heat treatment area. Equipment delivery to Mayak will be completed in June. After that, the company will move on to the most difficult stage - working out the production of new products.
The plant plans to build another mechanical workshop and create a second assembly production facility on the existing premises. The construction of a new electroplating workshop continues. Its construction should be completed in the summer, after which the equipment of the site will begin.
Mayak is engaged in the production of components for unguided aviation missiles and grenade launchers.
