A naval strike group of the Northern Fleet has entered the Barents Sea to conduct a series of exercises with live firing. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The group will include the frigates "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" and "Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov" of Project 22350 for several days. The crews will practice joint maneuvering elements and conduct a series of training sessions.
The frigates "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov" and "Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov" are modern multi-purpose ships with guided missile weapons designed to solve tasks in the far sea and ocean zones.
The ships are capable of conducting combat operations against an enemy located on the water, under the water, and in the air. For this purpose, they have various types of weapons on board that are capable of performing the task with great efficiency.
The armament of the frigates of the project includes anti-ship missiles "Caliber" or "Onyx", the "Poliment-Redut" anti-aircraft missile system, the "Paket-NK" anti-submarine torpedo complex, and an artillery installation. A Ka-27 helicopter can be based on board the ships.
