The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI) is engaged in the development of domestic aircraft with a hybrid power plant. This was announced by Kirill Sypalo, General Director of TsAGI.
In addition, the institute is working on the concept of a helicopter taxi with multiple electric drives.
Although the flight range of such aircraft is still small, it is now necessary to carefully study the advantages and disadvantages of such aircraft for local and regional transportation.
Sypalo added that over the past 40 years, the efficiency of photocells has almost doubled.
Thanks to this, specialists have the opportunity to begin implementing the concept of "atmospheric satellites" — unmanned aerial vehicles with a continuous flight duration of several months.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the MC-21-300 aircraft consumes half as much kerosene as the Tu-154M.
