American automotive journalists have appreciated the Lada Niva SUV, which was released on the Russian market in the new Sport version. The portal Motor1.com hinted that if Lada Niva Sport were sold in the USA, then the new import tariffs introduced by the current administration of Donald Trump would not apply to it.
Editor Christopher Smith stated that if the car was officially available in the United States, it would be very popular due to its cost.
Compared to the basic Niva, the power has increased significantly (from 83 to 122 hp), but the acceleration dynamics to 100 km/h leave much to be desired.
Touching on design issues, Smith appreciated the 17-inch wheels, new bumpers at the front and rear. The American reviewer also liked the updated interior of the car due to the sporty trim of the seats and steering wheel.
