Shacman Motors has developed a strategy to address the issues raised by Rosstandart and is ready to begin a recall campaign involving both newly manufactured and already in-service trucks.
Rosstandart specialists found problems with the Shacman truck, which led to the suspension of the vehicle type approval (OTTS) from February 7 of this year. It is noteworthy that the technical claims concerned not a new vehicle, but an already operated private car, which was produced in 2023.
Restrictive measures against Shacman create a negative effect not only for the company, but also for the entire industry, weakening competition and worsening conditions for Russian carriers.
On February 12, Rosstandart announced the recall of vehicle type approval for Shacman SX3258 trucks. The reason was the non-compliance of the dump truck model with a number of mandatory requirements identified during inspections. In particular, violations were found regarding noise restrictions, rear and side protective devices, as well as other requirements. In this regard, the sale and import of this model were prohibited.
Earlier it became known that Shacman Motors, together with the Chinese factory Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co, plans to launch a project to localize the production of equipment in Russia.
