A detachment of ships of the Baltic Fleet, consisting of the corvettes “Boyky” and “Stoyky” of Project 20380, code “Guarding”, conducted a comprehensive exercise in the naval training grounds of the Baltic Sea. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
At the first stage of the maneuvers, the corvette crews practiced elements of naval combat with ships of a mock enemy, performing artillery fire on a naval shield target with artillery weapons.
The Baltic sailors also had to counter unmanned boats. Their mock-ups were used as targets. They were fired upon from 30-mm AK-630M artillery mounts and large-caliber machine guns.
At the second stage of the exercise, the ship's personnel practiced skills in searching for and destroying a mock enemy submarine, the role of which was played by one of the diesel-electric submarines.
In cooperation with Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopters of naval aviation, the combat crews of the corvettes “Boyky” and “Stoyky” searched for a mock enemy submarine and destroyed it with torpedo weapons.
The armament of Project 20380 ships includes launchers for anti-ship missiles “Uran” or “Kalibr-NK”, an anti-aircraft missile system, artillery mounts, machine gun mounts and grenade launchers. They have anti-torpedo and anti-submarine protection.
