The Prirazlomnaya ice-resistant offshore fixed platform (MLSP) (built at Sevmash) has produced 30 million tons of oil in the Barents Sea. This is the only Russian facility operating on the Arctic shelf, the shipbuilding enterprise’s press service reported.
The Prirazlomnaya platform operates at temperatures of -50°. It produces a unique grade of Arctic Oil (ARCO).
To create a structure of colossal dimensions, shipbuilders at Sevmash mastered dozens of advanced technologies, including the development of platform systems and a unique method of underwater welding.
The total length of the seams welded underwater was about 3 thousand meters. The MLSP was built and handed over to the customer, Gazprom Neft Shelf LLC, in 2013. Platform specifications: weight — 117 thousand tons, height — 141 m, productivity — up to 5 million tons per year, autonomy (shift change) — 30 days.
