Прототип уникального лазерного ружья против беспилотников впервые показали в России

The weapon works against UAVs at a range of up to 500 m

A unique prototype of a laser gun designed to engage unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at a distance of up to 500 m was presented for the first time at the All-Russian Conference "Protection of Civil Facilities from Drone Attacks" in St. Petersburg.

The laser gun works by physically affecting drones based on focused ytterbium laser radiation technology.

When a "birdie" is hit by a laser beam, the body is destroyed, the motors, propeller and battery are damaged, the developing company noted.
