Medvedev proposed deploying laser systems to protect against UAVs

Russia has developed protection against kamikaze drones based on new physical principles

To protect important facilities from strike drones, it is necessary to deploy highly effective air defense systems (ADS), including those based on new physical principles. This proposal was made by Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

The day before, the politician visited the Central Federal District and inspected laser weapon systems designed to engage small targets.

We were shown developments that, as they say now, are based on new physical principles. I mean laser weapon systems designed to engage small targets. To protect facilities from UAVs, it is necessary to deploy highly effective air defense systems as soon as possible, including those systems that can use these new physical principles.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Security Council

Medvedev added that this is not only a production task. It is also related to the preparation of the necessary regulatory material.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia helped India build the second frigate of Project 11356.
