In case of a Telegram account hack, it is necessary to first terminate all active sessions, and then try to restore access using SMS. This was reported by Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
If your account has been hacked: terminate all unknown sessions, contact technical support, try to restore access via SMS, if recovery is impossible, create a new account.
To steal an account, attackers use phishing messages. For example, they may offer to get a free premium subscription or ask for help in voting. At the same time, they send malicious files disguised as photos or videos. Usually, such files have the .apk extension.
For security, it is recommended to use two-factor authentication, and not to provide codes for logging into the account to third parties, including via SMS.
Earlier, vulnerabilities were found in two-thirds of the applications of Russian financial institutions. Approximately 30% of them may lead to data leakage.
