The Project 1155 ship updated its weapons and technical systems

The large anti-submarine ship (BOD) "Severomorsk" of Project 1155 has returned to the combat strength of the Northern Fleet after repair. The ship arrived at the main base of the fleet in Severomorsk on Sunday, March 24.

The ship underwent scheduled repairs in Kronstadt, during which it updated its weapons and technical systems. Specialists from the Marine Plant also restored sonar, navigation and radar systems.

After-repair trials of the "Severomorsk" took place in the Baltic, after which it made the transition to the Northern Fleet. Details on the repair itself are not reported. The BOD "Severomorsk" of Project 1155 was laid down in 1984 at the "Yantar" plant in Kaliningrad. It has been part of the USSR Navy since 1988.

Main characteristics of Project 1155:

Displacement — 6840 tons. Length — 163 meters, width — 19 meters, draft — 5.2 meters. Full speed — 29.5 knots. Autonomy — 30 days, crew — 293 people, including 46 officers.

The ship is equipped with anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and artillery complexes, and is capable of carrying two Ka-27 helicopters.
