The Russian armored vehicle "Akhmat" survived seven hits from FPV drones, and the crew managed to take the vehicle to the rear for repairs. The soldiers were not injured.
The drones damaged the armored vehicle's air conditioner, pierced the tank, and blew out three wheels, the military said. The car withstood the impact and drove on the remaining three wheels for another five kilometers.
We were performing a combat mission with the TOS-2 "Solntsepek". We fired salvos, the "Solntsepek" left - they go first, we cover them - and as soon as they moved a hundred meters away from us, they were attacked by an FPV drone in the front of the car.
The soldier was in the armored vehicle when it was hit. According to him, this is just one of the cases when the "Akhmat" was attacked by FPV drones. The windshield of the "Akhmat" withstood, there is only a slight crack.
The only thing is that the passenger and I were a little blinded - literally for two minutes. But otherwise, no concussion, no stunning, we hardly felt anything.
The protected vehicle Z-STS "Akhmat" with a 6x6 wheel formula for 10 passengers is assembled on a serial frame using domestic components with a superstructure according to the "Typhoon" class of vehicle. Inside, it is possible to place both crew seats and a paramedic's seat and stretchers for transporting the wounded.
