Russian Navy to adopt new development strategy: country will retain status as a maritime power

The document will help ensure the security of the Russian Federation and protect its national interests in the World Ocean

The new development strategy of the Russian Navy will take into account the experience of real combat operations and the forecast of the development of the military-political situation in the world. This was announced by the Chairman of the Maritime Board, Nikolai Patrushev.

The draft strategy was considered at a meeting of the council for the strategic development of the Russian Navy. The strategic planning document will formulate the tasks and goals of the Navy for the near and long term, as well as the priorities of its development.

The strategy will be based on the basic principles of fleet construction, taking into account the experience of conducting a special military operation, the current state and forecast of the development of the military-political situation in the world.

The strategy will also be aimed at ensuring the country's security, protecting its national interests in the World Ocean, and maintaining Russia's status as a maritime power.

In order to implement the strategy, draft programs have been prepared, which will ensure full and rhythmic loading of shipbuilding enterprises, and achieve Russia's technological sovereignty in the field of shipbuilding.
