Rosatom specialists have completed the "zero integration" of platforms for safety systems at the Akkuyu NPP construction site. A unique converter of their own design was used for this purpose.
The converter was needed due to the use of a European-made turbine in the project, which uses the international OPC protocol for data exchange (while the upper-level Russian system uses the DTS protocol). RASU specialists had to create a "translator" – a special industrial computer and software for it.
The module converts signals from the turbine's sensors and detectors into the standard DTS, and then to the operators.
According to Gleb Murashov, Director of "Automated Process Control Systems" at JSC "RASU", the new converter ensures correct integration of both systems. The device is also planned to be used for setting up digital communication on the next units of the nuclear power plant.
Earlier www1.ru reported that at Akkuyu NPP they checked the operation of the main circulation pumps.
