Rosatom State Corporation intends to seek damages from the German company Siemens for non-performance of the contract, according to the general director of the state corporation, Alexey Likhachev, in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel. In the summer of 2024, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak publicly accused Siemens of deliberately disrupting the supply of equipment to Rosatom State Corporation for the Turkish Akkuyu NPP. A way out of the situation was found, the necessary components for the construction were supplied by countries friendly to Russia, and Russia, despite all the difficulties, will launch all four power units of the Akkuyu NPP in 2028. The first power unit of the NPP should be operational by the end of 2025.
