The first reactor of the Akkuyu NPP will be commissioned in 2025, and the deadlines will not be shifted "to the right." This was announced by the General Director of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev.
Akkuyu NPP is the first nuclear power plant being built in Turkey. The Akkuyu NPP project consists of four power units with Russian-designed VVER generation 3+ reactors. The capacity of each power unit is 1,200 MW.
It is expected that the launch of all four reactors will cover 10% of Turkey's electricity needs. On January 1, specialists installed a reactor at the third power unit, and nuclear fuel was delivered to the second.
