The production center of PJSC "Yakovlev" in Komsomolsk-on-Amur is accelerating the testing program of the SJ-100 aircraft with PD-8 engines. This was announced by Alexander Dolotovsky, Deputy General Director of PJSC "Yakovlev" – Director of the "Superjet" program.
According to him, the aircraft will begin flying under the certification testing program specifically for the installation of the PD-8 engine.
Thus, by connecting a total of three experimental aircraft to the testing program, we are significantly compressing this program in terms of time, and we plan to complete the certification ground and flight tests by the end of this year in order to obtain approval. And after receiving approval for the main change, we will proceed to deliver serial aircraft to our customers.
A total of three aircraft will participate in the tests: one with Russian systems but with a foreign engine, the second remotorized for PD-8 engines but still with standard systems, and the third a fully Russian aircraft.
Dolotovsky added that the tests on the aircraft with PD-8 include checking the integration of the new power plant with the aircraft's systems, both during normal engine operation and in situations of various failures.
The program also includes performing more than 50 flights, and will also require a significant amount of ground testing.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new SJ-100 aircraft became completely Russian, receiving 100% domestic components.
