The Western portal Global Firepower has compiled a ranking of countries by aggregate military strength for 2025. Russia took second place, behind the United States.
The ranking is based on more than 60 factors. Experts take into account the size of the army, the power of the naval forces, ground forces, air forces, and the development of logistics (number of airports, seaports).
This year, the Global Firepower ranking included 145 countries. The compilers of the list provide data on the number of military equipment and weapons, taken from open sources.
