Will Deliver Dozens of Kamikaze Drones: Characteristics of the Latest BEC "Katran" for the Black Sea Fleet Revealed

The "Katran" can be controlled at a range of 1000 km

The Russian Black Sea Fleet has received the latest unmanned boat (BEC). Its main feature is a lightweight, impact-resistant hull that is resistant to the strongest waves.

The BEC is capable of performing a wide range of functions: radar surveillance, reconnaissance, patrolling, logistics, strikes, including with the help of FPV drones. The "Katran" can be controlled at a range of 1000 km.

The "Katran" was developed according to the trimaran scheme. The BEC's hull is a lightweight, impact-resistant monocoque made of aluminum-magnesium alloy (AMG). Strong sea waves do not matter much to it; it is almost impossible to overturn the "Katran".

In fact, the "Katran" has two variations. When we install trimaran floats on it, which are necessary to increase stability, we get a platform for installing a variety of weapons, including small arms. Without floats, we have a kamikaze for torpedoing enemy ships, blowing up coastal objects and bridges.

Another promising way to use the boat is to deliver and launch FPV drones from specially equipped platforms. The BEC can deliver dozens of air kamikaze at a distance of up to 100-200 km. After they are launched, the boat can act as a repeater for control signals.
