Belousov Was Shown What the Inventors Are Currently Working On

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov visited the nuclear center in Sarov. He is confident that the defense department will soon receive new developments in this area, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

At the end of the working trip, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov held a working meeting with the leadership of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center and specialized military command bodies, during which he highly appreciated the work of the center's employees.

Belousov visited the nuclear center, where research is carried out on unique installations and stands. He inspected the laser range and the experimental site of the center. The Minister of Defense was presented with the developments of the nuclear center concerning digital, supercomputer, laser technologies, as well as pulsed technology.

The first Soviet atomic bomb, known as RDS-1, was developed at KB-11, which is now known as the Russian Federal Nuclear Center, VNIIEF. This work was led by outstanding scientists Igor Vasilyevich Kurchatov and Yuliy Borisovich Khariton.

Earlier in Kazan, they developed an Avatar airplane-type reconnaissance drone. This device is capable of conducting reconnaissance at a distance of up to 40 kilometers. The wingspan of the drone is 1.8 meters. It is equipped with three cameras: one for the operator who controls the drone, and two others with a thermal imager and 30x zoom.
