Specialists in Kazan have developed an airplane-type reconnaissance drone called "Avatar," which allows reconnaissance to a depth of up to 40 km. This was reported by the People's Front.

The UAV has a wingspan of 1.8 m and is equipped with three cameras. One camera is for the operator controlling the drone, and the other two are a thermal imager camera and a camera with a 30x zoom.

"Avatar" can stably maintain radio and video communication at a distance of up to 40 km.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian military invented a unique periscope with a thermal imager for observation.
