At the Cuban factory of EISA in Havana, the assembly of the first test copy of the UAZ Patriot SUV has been completed.
The first «UAZ Patriot» is designed to test the operation of the assembly line and test key systems. The production site has been prepared for the launch of mass production, which will start in the near future.
The installation of equipment has been completed at the factory, and specialists are making the final adjustments to the conveyor. The car is being tested on special benches, where the braking mechanisms, control system and accuracy of wheel alignment are checked.
In addition to the Patriot, it is also planned to establish production of the UAZ Pickup model in Cuba using the large-unit assembly method. There is a possibility that medical "loafs" will also be assembled at the factory. But we are not talking about large volumes – from 300 to 500 cars per year.
An agreement between the Cuban company Empresa Integral de Servicios Automotores (EISA) and the Russian company ECHO-Export SRL on the assembly of UAZ cars was signed last year at the IV International Exhibition of Cuban Industry Cubaindustria 2024.
