Three prototypes of the Baikal aircraft have been manufactured in Russia, and work on the project continues. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, the aircraft developer, the Zhukovsky National Research Center, recently received new recommendations to improve the aircraft's characteristics. The refined machine is undergoing flight tests.
Work continues on the creation of the light aircraft "Baikal", specifically for the needs of the Far East and the north of our country. Three samples have been made.
Alikhanov also clarified that the first deliveries of "Baikal" are planned for the end of 2026.
The LMS-901 "Baikal" light multi-purpose aircraft will replace the Soviet An-2 "Kukuruznik" multi-purpose aircraft, it has nine seats.
The cruising speed of the aircraft is up to 300 km/h, the maximum flight range is 3 000 km (with a payload of 2 tons - 1 500 km).
Earlier www1.ru reported that KAZ had signed contracts for the supply of 23 Tu-214 passenger aircraft.
