Section of Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line to be closed in Moscow: what passengers need to know

Authorities will launch free buses and allow passengers to re-enter the metro for free

In March 2025, a section of the orange line of the Moscow Metro (Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line) between the Novye Cheryomushki and Oktyabrskaya stations will be closed on weekends. This decision was made in connection with the construction of a new transfer to the future Akademicheskaya station of the Troitskaya line.

The restrictions will be in effect from March 1 to 2, from March 15 to 16, and from March 22 to 23. Free buses will be available for the convenience of passengers. Passengers will be able to transfer to the BCL, MCC, and Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line via Butovskaya, and also use regular ground transport routes.

During the days of restrictions, free re-entry to the metro will be available at the Oktyabrskaya, Novye Cheryomushki, and Ploshchad Gagarina stations. This will allow passengers to plan their trips more conveniently and avoid unnecessary costs. The Department of Transportation urges passengers to plan their routes in advance and take into account changes in the schedule.
