New compact and shortened Kalashnikov AK-12 and AK-15 assault rifles are suitable for arming drone operators, according to Sergey Urzhumtsev, chief designer of the Kalashnikov concern.
According to him, subcompact versions are primarily being considered for arming military personnel for whom small arms are not the main type of weapon.
As for the compact version, it is primarily for special forces units and units performing tasks in a confined space and in the event of personnel being deployed in mobile carriers.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the "Caliber" and "Uran" carriers, the corvettes "Rezkiy" and "Aldar Tsydenzhapov," conducted maneuvers off the coast of Indonesia.
