The purpose of these creations is unknown. As a rule, they are placed on the line of combat contact as false targets.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev suggested that the mockups are intended for adjusting the active-passive radar homing heads of the promising five-Mach AGM-88G AARGM-ER anti-radar missiles, which are undergoing the final stages of field testing.
