The Indonesian Air Force (IAF) is interested in Russian Su-35 and Su-57 fighters, and there is now an opportunity to discuss deliveries, said Maxim Lukyanov, military attaché of the Russian Embassy in Indonesia.
He recalled that Su-27 and Su-30 aircraft are still used in the Indonesian army.
I hope that they will be able to use next-generation aircraft - the Su-35 or, perhaps, the Su-57. We know that the Indonesian Air Force is very interested in this. But the decision depends not only on the military and the defense department, but also on the political will. But we have this opportunity. And I am sure that this is the best choice for the Indonesian Air Force.
Lukyanov added that the Indonesian Air Force has so far spoken exclusively positively about Russian fighters.
When I spoke with the chief officers of the Indonesian Air Force and asked them to talk about the "Sukhoi" - are there any problems, difficulties, everyone said that there were no problems. Everyone admires our weapons.
Earlier it became known that Algeria will be the first buyer of the Su-57. By the end of 2027, Russia will transfer 12 fifth-generation combat aircraft to the republic.
