Cooling System with Combined Coatings for Microelectronics Created at NRU "MPEI"

The development is intended for use in radio engineering systems, processors and other devices where increased heat dissipation power is required

Specialists from NRU "MPEI" have presented new heat exchange channels with unique combined coatings. They are able to increase the reliability and efficiency of electronics cooling systems. The development is aimed at use in radio engineering systems, processors and other devices with high heat generation density.

A key feature of the new cooling systems is the combination of a hydrophilic coating on the lower wall of the working channel and a superhydrophobic coating on the upper wall.

New heat exchange channels are a prime example of how scientific research leads to practical solutions that can change the approach to designing cooling systems for devices with high heat dissipation. This opens up new perspectives for creating highly reliable cooling systems.
Nikolay Rogalev, Rector of NRU "MPEI"

Various coolants can be used in cooling systems: distilled water and isopropyl alcohol. This allows achieving an optimal combination of technical and economic characteristics of the development.
