Over the past 10 years, prices for new cars in Russia have tripled. This was announced by Sergey Tselikov, General Director of the analytical agency "Autostat," at the ForAuto 2025 conference.
In 2013, the average weighted price of a new car in Russia was 910 thousand rubles, while in 2024 it was already 3.12 million rubles.
According to statistics from the "Autostat" agency, 1.57 million new passenger cars were sold in Russia in 2024. This result is the best in the last five years, the agency notes.
Russians preferred Lada cars, with a total of 436.2 thousand units sold. The Chinese brand Haval ranked second with 190.6 thousand cars purchased. Three more brands from China also managed to exceed the 100 thousand mark: Chery (157 thousand), Geely (149.1 thousand), and Changan (106.1 thousand).
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the automotive market is showing positive dynamics: in January 2025, it increased by 7% compared to the same period last year. Sales of domestic cars increased by 28%. In the first month of 2023, over 102 thousand new cars were sold in Russia. Almost half of them are models of Russian production.
