The Algerian Air Force will receive six Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighters in 2025, and another six in 2026, Algerie Solidaire reported.
Currently, Algerian pilots are undergoing training in Russia. Modernization of Algeria's existing Su-30MKA fleet to the Su-30SM2 standard, which entered service with the Russian army in January 2022, is also expected.
The first signed contract for the export version of the Russian fifth-generation Su-57E fighter was officially announced in November 2024 by Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport, on November 13, 2024, during the Airshow China exhibition in Zhuhai, China.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the AL-41F1 engines of the aircraft will be equipped with standard circular cross-section nozzles. At the same time, the machines received a long-range airborne radar complex (RLK) N036 "Belka", capable of detecting targets with an effective reflecting surface of 2 sq. m at a distance of 370 km.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the modernized Yak-130M aircraft with AESA radar may be sold to Asia and Africa.
