UEC to Present Two Latest Aircraft Engines – 177S and VK-650V

Mock-ups of power plants for airplanes and helicopters will be demonstrated at the Aero India exhibition

United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec State Corporation) will present two new aircraft engines at the international Aero India exhibition. This was reported by the company's press service.

The stand will feature a mock-up of the latest engine for aircraft 177S. It provides increased thrust with the same dimensions as the basic AL-31FP (used in India as part of Su-30MKI aircraft).

The service life of the 177S engine is 6 thousand hours. The power plant features reduced fuel consumption in all modes.

The 177S engine belongs to the fifth generation, and it can be installed both on aircraft with power plants of the previous generation without making changes to the design, and on new generation aircraft. The new VK-650V turboshaft engine can be used on Russian and foreign light helicopters. We have already received a Type Certificate, which confirms that the engine is ready for mass production.

The exhibition will also feature the AL-55E engine, developed specifically for the Indian HJT-36 trainer aircraft. This power plant has a modular design, which ensures high manufacturability and reduces operating costs.

Earlier www1.ru reported that UEC revealed the characteristics of the latest AL-31FN engine for Su-27, Su-34 and Su-30MK2 fighters.
