Element of the Mosquito Fleet: Production of Naval BECs Increased in Russia

Machine learning technologies may be used in the creation of new types of BECs

Russia has significantly increased the production of unmanned boats (BEC) for the Navy. Artificial intelligence will be used in the creation of new types of vessels, said Nikolai Patrushev, Chairman of the Marine Board.

The Russian Navy is already equipped with unmanned boats. Their production has been significantly increased taking into account combat missions.

Patrushev added that a unified center of competence for the development of unmanned underwater vehicles and robotic systems for the Navy will be engaged in the development of new types of BECs that surpass foreign models in their performance.

The necessary financial resources, as well as the best personnel — not only military, but also civilians, including from leading companies in the technology sector, will be involved in this work. It is planned to use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in the creation of new types of BECs.
