Iran has acquired a batch of Russian fourth-generation Su-35S multirole fighters. This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces "Khatam-al-Anbiya", General Ali Shadmani.

The general did not specify the exact number of fighters purchased by Iran. Shadmani also added that the Iranian armed forces have successfully tested new air defense systems.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev clarified that the Su-35C is equipped with the most "long-range" N035 Irbis-E airborne radars, detecting targets with an effective reflecting surface of 0.1 m² at a distance of 160 km against the background of airspace and about 100-120 km against the background of the ground.

The fighter can carry guided missiles of the "air-to-air" and "air-to-surface" type, unguided missiles, and aerial bombs of various calibers on 12 suspension units. The maximum combat load is 8 tons.
