The company "Azimut" (part of the Rostec Group) has equipped the Cheboksary International Airport named after A.G. Nikolaev with a domestic system to ensure the safe approach of aircraft for landing. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.

The transmitting equipment and control equipment have a one hundred percent "hot" reserve — backup components replace those that have failed in automatic mode without interrupting the operation of the entire complex.

The new system allows airport specialists to remotely control ground-based radio beacons and diagnose them. The beacons are placed in a unified container with life support systems, as well as security and fire alarms.

The parameters and characteristics of the equipment were measured on a specially equipped aircraft laboratory. The radio device complex has successfully passed tests and flight checks.
