Moscow authorities and military registration and enlistment offices have launched a campaign for the initial military registration of citizens in electronic form.
From January 1 to March 31, 2025, 17-year-old residents of Moscow will be automatically registered without visiting the military registration and enlistment office. They and their parents will receive digital registration certificates via the mos.ru portal and SMS, which can be used when applying to universities or for employment.
The electronic certificate includes personal data, number, date of registration, and memos. To confirm the category of fitness, a visit to the military registration and enlistment office will be required after the age of 18.
This initiative is related to the federal law on the unified register of those liable for military service. The document has not yet been adapted for other regions; if necessary, Muscovites can request a paper certificate.
