Vietnam to Receive Russian Research Vessel "Professor Gagarinsky"

The vessel was built at the Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant

Russia will transfer the vessel "Professor Gagarinsky" (project 16151) to the Vietnamese Tropical Scientific Research and Technological Center. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.

The research vessel (NIS) "Professor Gagarinsky" will be used for joint marine research. Currently, the NIS is part of the fleet of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "National Operator of the Research Fleet" (NatsONIF).

About "Professor Gagarinsky"

The vessel was built in 1987 at the Khabarovsk Shipbuilding Plant. It houses the following laboratories: geophysical, hydrographic, gravimagnetic, as well as a workshop for repairing pneumatic sources, a room for cameral processing (interpretation of data based on the results of geodetic surveying).

  • Board height - 5.16 m
  • Deadweight (total weight of cargo on the ship) - 329 t
  • Speed - up to 10 knots
  • Crew - 23 people
