In 2024, about 9 million Russian Internet users faced phishing sites, fraudulent online stores, and resources with malicious files every month. This was reported to journalists by a representative of Yandex Browser.
Mobile device owners turned out to be the most vulnerable: 5.5 million users tried to visit dangerous sites at least once a month. At the same time, among Android users, the risk was 10% higher than among iOS owners. This may be due to differences in the use of devices and the goals of attackers.
The statistics are based on data on the operation of the Yandex Browser warning system when trying to access fraudulent resources. Despite warnings about potential danger, 17.2% of desktop users and 12.5% of mobile device owners ignored these signals, which emphasizes the need to raise awareness of cyber threats.
