New 1.8L engines with 1.6L shafts being assembled for Lada Iskra

AvtoVAZ has started assembling 1.8L engines for Lada Iskra cars. This was reported by the insider VKontakte public page Avtograg.

A feature of the new power unit is the shafts from the 1.6L engine. The exact characteristics of the car's "heart" are currently unknown.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the base engine for Lada Iskra will be a 90 hp 1.6L, working in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission (MT).

A version with a more powerful 1.6L at 106 hp will also be available, which will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. Additionally, a version with a 1.6L engine and a CVT will appear in the Lada Iskra lineup.
