New information has surfaced about the Lada Iskra model, which is expected to replace several cars in the Russian automaker's lineup. According to a source KhaDm from AvtoVAZ, the new car is based on the Renault CMF-B/XJO platform and is positioned as a universal B-class car with an optimal ratio of price, size, and equipment.
The Lada Iskra will be equipped with three powertrain options:
- a basic 1.6-liter engine with 90 hp, which is paired with a manual transmission;
- two more powerful versions with the same displacement, but with 106 hp, which can be equipped with either a manual or a CVT.
Mass production is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025. The model's life cycle is designed for 8 years.
In the car's design, which consists of 1601 parts, 51% are borrowed components, 9% are modified, and 40% are new developments.
The new car will be sold not only in Russia, but also in the CIS countries and Egypt. The planned average annual production volume is 132,000 cars.
AvtoVAZ has a new model in its product line that should replace several cars at once: Lada Xray, Xray Cross, and the base version of Vesta. The manufacturer positions Iskra as the optimal solution in its segment, emphasizing comfort, practicality, and affordability.
The body length is 4333 mm, and the height varies from 1507 to 1517 mm depending on the body type.
Earlier, the first live shots of the pre-production version of the Lada Iskra, AvtoVAZ's new model, appeared online. Judging by the fact that the car has dark tinted glass and a red "Flamenco" color, it was assembled at AvtoVAZ in December for presentation.ideo
As a reminder, AvtoVAZ has started assembly line production of the Lada Iskra in a new body. This is the third version of the car in the lineup, which will be released along with the sedan and the regular station wagon. The Lada Iskra will be sold in parallel with the Lada Granta, but will eventually become its successor.
