The body of the new Lada Iskra sedan will be provided with reliable protection against rust. This was announced by a former AvtoVAZ engineer on the KhaDm channel.
Corrosion protection will be comprehensive. The underbody will be treated with an anti-corrosion compound and galvanized. In addition, the manufacturer will begin to use higher quality steel (compared to Lada Granta).
Also, the body of the Lada Iskra will be galvanized on the outside, so it will in principle have high corrosion resistance. And as a result, we get a fairly high-quality, I would even say very well protected car from corrosion.
It was also noted that the ground clearance of the new sedan will be 170 mm, and the curb weight will be about 1100 kg.
Automation of welding at the start of production in March this year will be 20%. In six months, this figure is planned to be increased to 70%.
From 2026, AvtoVAZ intends to produce about 130 thousand Lada Iskra annually. However, in 2025, production volume will be slightly less.
