A former AvtoVAZ engineer, known under the nickname KhaDm, shared interesting information about Lada Iskra. According to him, Russian manufacturers will not be able to ensure the full-fledged production of components for this model by March of this year.
However, AvtoVAZ does not intend to postpone the start of production. Therefore, many orders were signed at the enterprise, which allow the import of parts without testing and bureaucratic procedures.
In accordance with these orders, AvtoVAZ purchased temporary parts in China. They will be installed on cars until Russian suppliers can ensure the production of the necessary components.
Let me explain it simply. The first "Iskras", the first six months, will be cars that will be "stuffed" with temporary solutions. These will be cars that will really differ from the cars that will be produced in the long term.
As a reminder, the base version of Lada Iskra will have a 90-horsepower engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, which is also used in Lada Granta. This combination will allow the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 12 seconds, and fuel consumption in urban conditions will be 8-9 liters of gasoline.
At the end of November, photos of the new Lada Iskra model in a cross-universal body appeared online. The car in gray color was shown from different angles.
